Holiday dressing in Zulekha J Shariff

We all have that one style, item, or trend that we haven’t tried but can’t seem to completely disregard. It lingers in the back of our minds. We pass by it on the racks, or see other gals rockin’ it and think, I could never pull that off. For me, it has always been “The Maxi Dress’. My love for maxi dresses has always been on a completely different level but till today I was a little skeptical about sporting one! I’ve always thought I was too short to wear one, so I stuck to my uniform of monochrome black, lots of layering, and summery short dresses. But all thanks to Zulekha J Shariff I have proof that you can work it no matter your shape or height! I’m officially a maxi dress convert all thanks to her!

When this stunning outfit arrived in my mailbox I instantly fell in love with it. The bold and abstract, semi backless, road printed maxi was quirky and fun and I just could not wait to wear it. It has a very holiday dressing feel to it. Most of us love to wear full length dresses but often don’t because it is thought that full-length dresses are for special formal occasions. But that the beauty of a maxi dress. You wear it to a summer wedding, garden party, casual day out with friends or even a relaxed sun down. I prefered to wear it on my recent vacation to Spain to a classy sun down party by the beach. You can simply throw a denim or a formal jacket to enhance the look and create a relaxed or a sensual vibe depending upon the occasion.  Maxi dresses really appealing this fall season too.

As for the accessories I decided to go for a “less is more” look. Since the dress has a beautiful busy print, I paired it with a pair of simple hoop earrings , statement ring and strappy flats. Sometimes, you just have to let the outfit do the talking…

Until next time,
