November Makeup Essentials

Hello Lovelies!

Winter is coming and here at Bella, I’m obsessed with beauty (in case you didn’t notice). So, it’s safe to say that I spend a lot of time with my nose pressed to the screen of my laptop, avidly surfing and searching through tons of my favourite makeup products. I’ve rounded up my top 7 beauty products for the season based on bang-on recommendations, fast and furious insider knowledge, and an unadulterated love of product. Hope you like it!

1. Mac Prep and Prime

Im addicted to using this product. I’ve been using this for a few months now and it hasn’t irritated my sensitive skin. I can’t put my foundation on without it. It does make a huge difference with how my foundation goes on and even better when you wear it alone. Your face sort off just looks refreshed and hydrated. It hasn’t broken me out so I will definitely keep buying it. It is a little pricey but it will last you a very long time since you literally just need a pump for all over your face. Mac Prep and Prime keeps your makeup looking flawless ALL day, it really gives my dry skin a dewy glow.

Beauty Tip: Always apply your primer after washing your face with a face wash and moisturizing it well. Let your moisturizer be for around 5 minutes before applying your primer.

2. Giorgio Armani Designer Lift Foundation

Hunting for makeup is one my favorite past times. Especially base makeup. I love base makeup in general, but I enjoy collecting and experimenting with liquid foundations most. I prefer using my fingertips to apply foundation and then using a brush to blend it into the skin. It gives a neater and natural finish. Of all the brands I have tried and tested over the years, Armani Designer Lift is my overall favorite. It provides medium to full coverage and gives a semi-matte finish. Designer Lift is ideal for Indian skin as the foundation shades are very suitable for brown skin. Also it has both smoothing and firming properties which is good for mature and breakout prone skin. Do make sure to moisturize and prime the skin properly before application. I also find it best to powder the T-Zone when wearing Designer Lift since it does have a tendency to break down around the nose and between the eyebrows after a few hours. Armani foundations as a whole do not oxidize much, but Designer Lift does not change color whatsoever upon application. I would love to use this most during the winter.

3. Benefit They’re Real Mascara

Consider this mascara the no-fuss alternative to falsies. This mascara can deliver results as impressive as false eyelashes, They’re Real! does lengthen lashes and increase thickness with multiple coats to keep them looking anything but lack lusture. It doesn’t run or smudge, even after a whole day of wear, and gives the lashes a natural-looking curl without weighing them down. It’s also easy to remove this mascara and doesn’t not leave you with raccoon looking eyes!

4. Mac Studio Fix Powder

Personally, I carry this with me everywhere. It’s my instant makeup fix. The finish looks so amazingly flawless when used with a large powder or kabuki brush and buffed in circular motion into the skin. It also soaks up the excess oil from my face almost instantly. But it does have a skin-drying tendency and feels heavy after a few hours of wear. The coverage is good and full, but this would look a lot better as stage up or photo-shoot make-up than as a day-to-day look as the thickness of the product really prevents it from giving the illusion of perfect skin. It does tend to clog the pores if used excessively. The sponge needs replacement very often, as it tends to wear off quite quickly.

5. Lakme Eyeconic Kajal

This is something I cannot step out without. Dark black kohl is the most essential part of my makeup routine. I can skip the entire process of make up application but without my kajal you will spot me no where! The Lakme Eyeconic Kajal is so smooth and soft. Easy application and smudge proof to a great extent. Cannot say that it does not smudged at all. After a few hours of usage it does tend to get a little light in shade.  I even use it on top of my eye lids as it glides on the skin with much ease.

6. Benefit Watts Up Highlighter

This champagne hued highlighter is applied on the cheekbones and on the brow bone. When I first saw the champagne hue, I instantly felt that it would look way too shimmery for my liking. But once blended into the skin it results in a beautiful, glowy sheen that’s luminous and lit-from-within. It sits on top of makeup well without looking heavy or cakey.

7. Maybelline Lip Smooth Color Bloom

This is a creamy white balm that magically blossoms into a sheer pink color on contact with lips to create a healthy flush of color! Lips look instantly hydrated, revived and so fresh! Your lips are continuously nourished making them so soft, smooth and naturally gorgeous.
