Deep in every heart slumbers a dream, and the couturier knows it.. Every woman is a princess – Christian Dior.
I think fashion is about change. Fashion is about a revolution. I strongly think that women are revolutionary. I’m a little bit feminist and being a woman there are a lot of challenges that we face, so did Maria Grazia Chiuri. As the first woman to lead the house in Dior’s 70-year history, Chiuri now holds one of the biggest jobs in fashion. All eyes were set on her Dior SS17 Collection! Her first look was a white fencing suit. The jacket was softly quilted in cotton, tied at the sides and embroidered with a little black bee. It was worn by a shaven-headed blonde with skinny white knicker bockers and white branded sneakers stamped “Dior”. “Wow” is what I muttered under my breath! While the first half of the show featured sporty daywear, slogan T-shirts, sharp monochromatic tailoring and severe, simple gowns, the second indulged a more romantic spirit. A collection of delicate, tulle dresses embroidered with tarot-card illustrations and stars. I saw the entire show and was spell bound. Right from the detailing to the colors, silhouettes to the styling! Everything was bang on!
As I do love luxury fashion, I always find it impossible to choose my faves… Its kind of my motto that when in doubt always wear BLACK! I got my hands on this Black Wool Vest Dress and I knew where my heart was. Teamed it with a Tee and a pair of shorts from the same collection and added a pair of fishnet stockings to oomph up the look! The result is for all to see. Its wear classic meets edgy.
You must admit Maria didn’t fail to surprise all of us fashion enthusiasts. With her signature style, but always keeping Dior’s principles in mind, she presented a collection that I could use everyday… chic and practical for a woman who goes from one place to another and want-so-be-sexy in a state of mind… So did I cheer when I saw her Revolution slogan T-shirt sally down the catwalk? Sure as heck I did.
Until Next Time
